Your CompassPlus profile includes three distinct geographic fields, each serving a different purpose:
Location
Greater Service Area
Service Areas
Here’s what each one means and how it impacts your visibility and profile display:
What it is:
Your office city or primary business address. This is where you’re based.
Used for:
Internal reference and profile organization
Displayed only on your full profile (not on your profile card)
Does not impact search or map visibility.
Example:
📍 Tampa, FL
What it is:
A general description of the region or metro area you serve.
Used for:
Displayed on your Profile Card (e.g., “Serving the Greater Boston Area”)
Provides helpful context for site visitors
Not tied to metadata or search filters.
This is a display-only field—great for user clarity, not functionality.
Example:
🗺 Greater Denver Area
What it is:
A list of specific cities or towns you actively service.
Used for:
CompassPlus search functionality
Map pins that show your profile when users browse by city
Search filters and agent discovery tools
This is the only field that directly impacts where and how you appear in search results.
Example:
Boulder
Aurora
Westminster
🚨 Each service area you add creates a searchable tag and map location for your profile.
